The use of wood in building products is becoming increasingly important in terms of sustainability. The development of windows, for example, into a highly technical product also requires a high quality of the pre-products.

Wood is and remains a natural product with its characteristics. Therefore, it requires special processing and control for use in wooden windows.

Together with Holzforschung Austria (Austrian Forest Products Research Society), Bern University of Applied Sciences Biel, Austrokantel and the Federal Institute for Materials Testing and Research, ift Rosenheim has drawn up the ift-Guideline HO-10/1 "Solid, finger-jointed and laminated profiles for timber windows". The quality of the products is reflected in the ift-certified mark.

Products certified and monitored according to this certification scheme also meet the requirements according to RAL-GZ 695 (Quality regulations and test specifications for windows, external pedestrian doorsets RAL-GZ 695).
