New test facilities for sound, air-wind-water, durability, smoke protection and burglar resistance
Lead expertise, speed and international recognition are important success factors for the development of components and accessories. This applies in particular to necessary tests for the development of new windows or doors and special solutions for demanding constructions (company headquarters, hotels, public buildings, etc.). This is why the ift Rosenheim has set up an new iftLAB in Arnsberg (NRW) together with Athmer in the "Technikum". In this test laboratory, preliminary tests can be carried out by the "Technikum" examiners as well as building law tests for CE by the ift test engineers. The laboratory is equipped with test equipment from ift MessTec for testing sound, air-wind-water, durability, smoke protection and burglar resistance. "The iftLAB is a win-win situation because Athmer and ift Rosenheim share the same quality and customer philosophy", says Dr. Jochen Peichl (CEO ift Rosenheim).
Rosenheim is located in a holiday region and is always worth a trip, but for many ift customers it means a two-day journey. This is why ift Rosenheim is now opening the iftLAB Arnsberg (NRW), which is only a 50-minute drive from the office base ift West (Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Gütersloh/NRW district). The ift test engineers can also travel quickly from here. The new test laboratory iftLAB is operated in the "Technikum" of Athmer, which was set up 2 years ago with test equipment from ift MessTec and is also calibrated and monitored by ift Rosenheim. This ensures that the tests can be recognized by ift Rosenheim under building law.
In the "Technikum", manufacturers of windows and doors have already been supported with tests and engineering during product development. In cooperation with ift Rosenheim, it is now also possible to carry out tests recognized by building law. This includes the testing of sound insulation, air and driving rain tightness, wind load, durability, smoke protection and burglary resistance. The ift tests can be carried out not only according to European standards, but also according to American and British regulations, which are required for approval in North America, Great Britain and the Arab world. In contrast to the ift "in-house test" concept, iftLAB has no restrictions with regard to enquiries from a wide variety of companies. This is because the "Technikum" is under the sovereignty of ift Rosenheim during the ift tests. This ensures the necessary neutrality and confidentiality. "The iftLAB is a win-win situation because Athmer and ift Rosenheim share the same quality and customer philosophy", says Dr. Jochen Peichl (Managing Director of ift Rosenheim).
With the iftLAB, ift Rosenheim continues to invest in regionality and customer proximity, and Athmer is investing in the expansion of its expertise.
