Our society is being shaken by natural disasters, geopolitical tensions, and increasing attacks on critical infrastructure. This calls for a fundamental reassessment of building safety, as the consequential losses resulting from production downtime or disruptions to infrastructure services are significantly greater than the damage to the building itself.
For this reason, affected buildings must undergo a critical assessment and be retrofitted where necessary. As a critical structural component, doors will therefore have to meet higher safety standards in future.
Even now, banks and insurance companies are already charging higher interest rates or premiums where protective measures are lacking. This is why even ‘normal’ buildings benefit from good protection against climate-related weather extremes such as overheating, flooding, heavy rain, strong winds or hailstorms.
Furthermore, the transition to a circular economy, with the implementation of the 9R strategies, calls for the development of new designs, services and business models. This is because manufacturers’ responsibility now extends to use, maintenance, reuse and recycling. In this context, the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), with its new product standards and the ‘Digital Product Passport’, will be a game-changer and, from 2027, will lead to fundamental market changes to which companies must adapt.
The special show by ift Rosenheim therefore demonstrates what recyclable, climate-resilient and secure doors look like, and how they are tested and labelled. The focus is on protection against extreme weather events and physical attacks, as well as recyclability and the reduction of CO2 emissions during the manufacture and use of construction products.
At the BVT Gate Forum, ift Rosenheim will deliver informative presentations on the aforementioned topics together with its co-exhibitors
Stand concept + presentation
The exhibition booth features fully functional products that allow visitors to realistically evaluate technical solutions.
PC terminals equipped with calculation and simulation tools, digital services, and experts from ift Rosenheim provide in-depth and detailed information. The numerous meeting areas at the booth also invite visitors to engage.
Demonstration zones for physical attacks (vandalism, sabotage, etc.) as well as live tests of extreme weather conditions (hail cannon) generate additional attention in the exhibition hall, media coverage, and a memorable emotional experience for trade show visitors.
We are looking for the following exhibits for the ift Special Show:
- Climate-resilient (climate-proof) gates, offering high protection against climate-related extreme weather events (flooding, hail, storms/wind loads, etc.)
- Gates with protection against physical attacks (burglary, vandalism, etc.)
- Gates (including accessories and materials) that use resources, energy, and CO2 emissions efficiently and are planned and designed for single-material dismantling (circular construction)
- Technical solutions for building automation and smart homes
- Digital planning tools, practical implementation of the digital product passport
- AI applications (knowledge and material databases) for planning and design
- Practical certification and evaluation of sustainable building products to simplify sustainable building certification
- Additional proposals related to the theme of the ift special exhibition
