Laboratory Fire and Smoke Control - ift Technology Centre

Today, time to market and flexibility are success factors. For this reason, the ift Technology Center was built with an investment of approx. 7 million Euros on a gross floor area of over 3,000 m² as a modern test and research center for large-format facades, doors, gates, windows, sliding elements, glass elements and wall elements. For ift Rosenheim, this means making test dates possible at short notice, minimizing assembly work and keeping the quantity of tests low through intelligent test specimen selection.

Laboratory Performance for Fire Resistance, Smoke Protection, Fire Behaviour and Mechanical Durability

ift Rosenheim is a partner for manufacturers of fire protection components. The evidences of performance from ift Rosenheim offers manufacturers, planners and house owners the security of an internationally recognized notified and accredited testing, monitoring and certification body with decades of experience in fire protection. Close cooperation with leading fire testing bodies in Europe and the cooperation partner UL (Underwriters Laboratories) enables worldwide acceptance of the results.

The performance includes the determination of fire resistance, durability, smoke leakage and fire behaviour as well as monitoring and certification.

All advantages at a glance

The tests are carried out by a competent team of physicists and engineers.

Assembly boxes, elevating platforms/crane systems as well as storage places allow fast and economical assembly, preparation and test of the test specimens

The tests and evidences can be carried out according to German, European, American, British and other international standards. For this purpose, we work together with our cooperation partner UL (Underwriters Laboratories), among others.

Our Test Rigs for Fire Behaviour

A test engineer is working on a combustion chamber. In it is a small test specimen that is being burnt.
Combustion chamber: for testing fire behaviour, glowing and smoldering, non-combustibility and spontaneous ignition of building elements and building materials of all kinds
A test engineer places a sample in a metal vessel in the calorimeter
Bomb calorimeter: for testing fire behaviour, glowing and smoldering, non-combustibility and spontaneous ignition of building elements and building materials of all kinds
