Certification – Weather boards + Thresholds – QM 340

Weather boards and thresholds are among the most important components on a window or door. Without the right board or threshold, the functions and some performance characteristics according to EN 14351-1 are not given. The interaction between the weather board or threshold and other components is also crucial.

In order to provide building element manufacturers with a good basis for the use of high-quality weather boards or thresholds, ift Rosenheim has launched the ift certification scheme QM 340. The testing and certification of weather boards or thresholds according to QM 340 also provides the building element manufacturer with the basis for obtaining ift certification at the quality level or the RAL quality mark according to RAL-GZ 695.

Products certified and monitored according to this certification scheme meet the requirements of RAL-GZ 695 (Windows, Facades and Entrance Doors - Quality Assurance RAL-GZ 695).

With QM 340, rules were also created for the interchangeability of weather boards and thresholds based on EN 14351-1 Annex A.
