New testing options offer more convenience and flexibility for ift Rosenheim customers

The new collaboration between ift Rosenheim and the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Patras allows us to meet the growing demands of our customers. With its "FireUP" fire testing center, the University of Patras provides the testing facilities for preliminary tests and official ift tests. The ift Rosenheim contributes its comprehensive component expertise in fire protection. The cooperation provides optimum support for system providers and manufacturers of building elements and products in order to meet the test requirements and obtain the necessary structural verification efficiently and at the highest professional level

Foundation of FireUP and partnership with ift Rosenheim

The University of Patras founded the "FireUP" fire testing center in 2015 with the aim of establishing an in-house testing laboratory for research and training purposes. After initial discussions with ift Rosenheim and the request from the University of Patras to ift Rosenheim to calibrate the fire kilns and the associated test equipment, the idea was born to make this laboratory available to Greek customers for preliminary tests and official ift tests.

Preliminary tests and official tests

As an accredited and notified test body, ift Rosenheim will carry out the official tests for interested customers in the FireUP laboratory in Patras in accordance with CPR Art. 46, which are required for the CE mark, among other things. This guarantees high test quality and recognition of the test results under building law. The possible "preliminary tests" by the trained and experienced staff of FireUP at the University of Patras ensure that all required standards are met before the "official" test is carried out by ift Rosenheim. This avoids delays and makes the testing process more efficient.

Convenient service by ift inspectors on site

Another advantage of the cooperation is that the ift Rosenheim test engineers are provided by the partner location ift Rosenheim Hellas. This saves time and enables quick and uncomplicated on-site testing - making the testing process more flexible for everyone involved.

The ift Rosenheim currently provides fire protection tests on windows, doors, gates, facades, walls and fire protection closures in accordance with the standards EN 1634-1, EN 1364-1, EN 1365-1.

Calibration of the test equipment

The quality of the test equipment is ensured by regular calibration and furnace performance measurement by ift Rosenheim. This calibration ensures that the test equipment always meets the highest standards and delivers exact and reproducible measurement results.

Conclusion: A cooperation for customer-oriented testing services with the highest testing quality

By combining expertise, flexibility and on-site testing in Greece, this cooperation offers customers in Greece and neighboring countries an optimal service for more cost-effective, efficient and flexible test processing.

Inspections in Patras are currently planned from July 2025. Inquiries and appointment bookings are now possible and will be processed via ift Rosenheim Hellas .
