Doors and Gates in Detail
In the private sector, overhead garage doors or sectional garage doors are used, while sliding doors or side-hinged doors are used for driveways.
Industrial and production facilities are equipped with various doors depending on the requirements and needs. These include roller shutters, sliding or folding sliding doors, sectional doors, spiral doors and, indoors, also foil doors / high-speed doors.
Most doors have one thing in common: They are automated or power-operated and have a drive unit and control system that do the work for people. Functioning safety devices are absolutely essential here.
Testing and Certification of Doors and Gates for High Product Quality
ift Rosenheim tests doors for the properties listed in the product standard DIN EN 13241-1, such as air permeability, resistance to wind load, watertightness, operating force, safe opening, mechanical durability, thermal insulation, sound insulation and much more. After successful testing, ift Rosenheim issues a test report and a classification certificate.
The manufacturer can use the test results determined by ift Rosenheim to draw up the declaration of performance as per the Construction Products Regulation or, in cooperation with TÜV Süd, as per the Machinery Directive (in future the Machinery Regulation) and for CE marking as per product standard EN 13241-1.
Once the door has been successfully tested, the product can be certified under building law and private law. ift Rosenheim has developed special certification programs for doors that stand for particularly high product quality. As part of the certification process, an audit is carried out at the manufacturer's production facility and an ift-Certificate is issued. The certificates are listed in the certification database of ift Rosenheim.
Testing and certification of doors and gates by ift Rosenheim therefore guarantees high quality, durability and safety.
Your Advantages
Test of Doors and Gates as per Product Standard for Doors and Gates - EN 13241-1
The performance characteristics of doors and gates are defined in EN 13241-1 "Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates - Product standard - Part 1: Products without fire resistance or smoke control characteristics". According to the product standard EN 13241-1, a distinction is made between mandated* (prescribed) and voluntary (additional) properties.
EN 13241-1 applies to doors and gates, regardless of the material used. This includes steel, aluminum, wood and plastic. The performance characteristics are tested in accordance with the European test standards and the test results are evaluated in accordance with the European classification standards.
ift Rosenheim then reports the results obtained in test reports or ift-Nachweis. The results of the tests for mandated properties serve as the basis for CE marking and the preparation of the declaration of performance in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation. These are mandatory in order to be able to market a door in Europe.
The ift-tested mark enables manufacturers and dealers to effectively advertise their doors tested by ift Rosenheim.
