30 years ift-accreditation of testing competence
according to EN ISO/IEC 17025 (Flexible: I,II,III)

As one of the first testing laboratories in Germany, ift Rosenheim has been accredited since 1988 - at that time according to the national DIN 45001; since 2002 according to the international standard "ISO/IEC 17025".

The accreditation according to EN ISO/IEC 17025 guarantees the international recognition of ift test evidences by institutions, authorities and tendering bodies. In addition, the ILAC-MRA agreement of many national accreditation authorities guarantees the mutual acceptance of the evidences in the signatory countries: LINK. We will be happy to provide you with further information.

The "flexible accreditation" achieved in the 3 competence levels (categories) brings special customer benefits. This enables the ift testing laboratory, for example, to apply new standard editions and to accept customer requests where the test method deviates from the standards listed in the accreditation or has to be newly developed.

Explanation of the term „flexible": *-characterization in the annex of the accreditation certificate vs. (Flex-Category)

  • * (= Cat.III) In this area, the laboratory is permitted − without prior approval of the DAkkS − to use the test methods listed in the certificate with different versions of the standards.

  • ** (= Cat.I) This next higher category allows the laboratory − without prior approval of the DAkkS − to freely select standardized or equivalent test methods (e.g. analog national standards/guidelines (ASTM, BS, AAMA, UL)).

  • *** (= Cat.II) The highest verification of competence allows the laboratory – without prior approval of the DAkkS − to modify as well as to undertake advanced and new developments of test methods.

„CE-Tests“: Notified testing body based on 17025-Accreditation

With this accreditation the ift can maintain the notification of the DIBt according to CPR 305/2011/EU for procedures in system 3 for:

  • the harmonised standards listed under item 4 (product standards and EADs)
  • the test standards listed under item 5 for the „horizontal“ application to various construction components/products
  • testing outside the ift-laboratories based on the ift in-house method and cooperation agreements with external laboratories.
