Scope according to DIN 4102-3 (Chapter 1):

This standard specifies fire protection definitions, requirements and tests for firewalls and non loadbearing external walls including parapets and flashings.
 

Requirements according to DIN 4102-3 (Chapter 4.2):

  • Firewalls have to consist of construction material of class A according to DIN 4102-1
  • Firewalls have to fulfill the requirements of the following two sections
  • Firewalls have to fulfill at least the specifications of fire-resistance class F90 with centric and eccentric load
  • Firewalls have to remain stable and space-enclosing when testing the impact loading
  • Stability has to remain unchanged during and after the first two impacts at the load p and after the third impact at dead load g 
  • Integrity has to be granted during and after impact loading
  • The temperature rise above the initial temperature on the fire averted side must not be more than 140 K in average and not more than 180 K in maximum during and after impact loading
  • Firewalls with higher fire resistance duration are firewalls that fulfill the specifications of the fire-resistance class F120 or F180
