Scope according to DIN 4102-2 (Chapter 1):

This standard specifies fire protection definitions, requirements and tests for building components. As building material according to this standard count walls, ceilings, beams, stairs, etc.

Requirements according to DIN 4102-2 (Chapter):

  • Preventing the passage of fire for at least 30 minutes of space-enclosing components
  • For at least 30 minutes, the room averted side of a space-enclosing component shall not move more than 140k away from the initial temperature
  • Space-enclosing walls have to resist the load of the strength test
  • Supporting and non-loadbearing components must not collapse under its dead load
