Field of application according to ISO 10140-3 (Chapter 1):

This part of the ISO 10140 specifies the method for measurement of the impact sound insulation of ceiling constructions in the test rig.
The test results can be used to compare the sound insulation properties of building components, to classify building components according to their sound insulation ability, to support the construction of building components that have to feature certain acoustic properties and to evaluate the performance in installed condition in the complete building.

Requirements according to ISO 10140-3 (Chapter 6):

  • See ISO 10140-1
  • The specifications according to ISO 10140-1:2010, Annex H, have to be adhere to for testing the reduction of the impact sound pressure level by floor covering.
