ift Rosenheim „goes West“
New location in North Rhine-Westphalia improves customer proximit
In November, ift Rosenheim opens a new location in Rheda-Wiedenbrück in the Gütersloh district. This is centrally located with a connection to the A2 motorway, as the main axis from the Ruhr area to Berlin and to the A33 Kassel – Osnabrück motorway. The "ift West" serves as a base for technical coordination, training and testing on the company's own test facilities in this region. The site manager is Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Rolf Schnitzler, who has been responsible for windows and facades at ift as a product engineer and product manager since 2011.
Rosenheim is located in a holiday region and is always worth a trip – but for many ift customers it is often a two-day trip. This is why ift Rosenheim is now opening a new base in Rheda-Wiedenbrück (Gütersloh district in North Rhine-Westphalia). The location is centrally located with access to the A2 motorway, as the main axis from the Ruhr area to Berlin and to the A33 Kassel – Osnabrück motorway. Approximately 120 customers have their businesses in this area. Many of them have their own testing facilities, especially suppliers and system providers. Following the ift concept of "testing on company-owned test facilities", these can now be better serviced via ift West. The ift test engineers can carry out tests more flexible and promptly on the company's own test rigs, eliminating the need for time-consuming and costly journeys from Rosenheim. This also benefits window manufacturers, who can now more easily obtain the necessary tests from a notified body as base for CE marking.
With the ift West location, ift Rosenheim is deliberately investing in regionalism and customer proximity in order to be able to respond more quickly and flexibly to customer requirements. In Rheda-Wiedenbrück, no new laboratory structures are set up, but the ift West serves as a "base" for the technical coordination of the test specimens, tests on the company's own test rigs and other services. This initially includes the "classic" air, wind and water tightness tests of windows, doors and facades. Tests regarding burglar resistance and sound insulation will follow. Everything else will be decided by the market.
In the new "domicile" on the grounds of the castle "Rheda" 5 offices and 2 meeting rooms are opened. It will be launched in November under the direction of Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Rolf Schnitzler, who, after studying mechanical engineering, worked 20 years for a system house for windows, doors and facades – including 5 years in the USA. Since 2011, Rolf Schnitzler has been responsible for windows and facades at ift Rosenheim as product manager. In the medium term, 6-8 ift experts are to be employed. The close cooperation with the main location in Rosenheim guarantees access to all testing facilities and the knowledge of over 150 ift experts.
