In the backdrop of the impurities that are continuously caused by environmental impact, the glass industry has developed functional glazing having a self- cleaning effect. The special titanium dioxide coating (TiO2), which is permanently connected with the surface of the glass, ensures that dust and other contamination do not adhere to the glass. Additionally, the functional coating of this glazing constantly removes any organic dirt or grime. If water sheets on the surfaces, dirty residues simply get rinsed away by tilting the glazing accordingly. The glazing stays clean much longer and the cleaning intervals are less frequent.
The following information gives an overview of the performance capability, functioning and the options of deploying this type of glazing having a self-cleaning effect and alternative, stain-resistant coatings.
