Cooperation between ift Rosenheim and 4ward Testing offers advantages
For sealant manufacturers from the EU, Great Britain is an important market, but here too, the products must be marked with a UKCA mark. However, the test certificates required for this may only be provided by bodies recognized in the UK, so-called "Approved Bodies".
To facilitate market access for customers, ift Rosenheim has expanded its international network and is now working with a British cooperation partner: Together with the renowned English testing institute "4ward Testing" as an Approved Body, there is now the possibility for the area of sealants in the building industry for use in wall/building connections, glazing, sanitary and for pedestrian walkways to support manufacturers in obtaining evidence for the UKCA and CE mark. The normative basis is the EN 15651 series of standards "Se-alants for non-structural use in buildings and pedestrian walkways".
The tests and verifications (including fire behavior according to EN 13501-1, Class E) as a basis for the respective conformity marks can be used through the cooperation of the two testing laboratories. This is a great advantage, because the products only have to be tested once, and the manufacturer has only one contact person who regulates the entire proce-dure. The corresponding test reports are prepared by the testing laboratory and the asses-sments are issued by the partner approved in the respective market - for the market in Great Britain "4ward Testing" as Approved Body 2538 for UKCA and for the EU market ift Rosenheim as Notified Body 0757 for CE.
